My name, as I hope you’ve managed to deduce by now, is Molly.
I currently share a cozy LA apartment with my sweetie and our steadily growing menagerie, which at this point comprises a dog, a cat, and a red-eared slider.
I’m an INTP.
I love roller coasters, the color coral, word puzzles, peanut butter, Thai food, and anything that tastes like marshmallows.
I don’t love cilantro, insects, overhead light fixtures, homophobia, or caffeine.
I started food blogging in the summer of 2011 for no particular reason. Andy and I had just moved into our first apartment, and I guess I was interested in teaching myself to cook (we lived in Kentucky at the time, so there wasn’t much else to do)
Although that first blog has since gone where all good blogs go to die, it was largely responsible for turning me into a baking addict. Over the following year, I was in the kitchen any time I wasn’t sleeping or in school (and often when I was supposed to be sleeping or in school), and I would regularly bring in treats for my classmates to sample. I discovered I really enjoyed trying new flavor combinations and adapting recipes I found online, despite the sometimes disastrous results. My taste-testers encouraged me to keep baking and expanding my repertoire until, somehow, I found myself here!
I started Molly Alice Nests right after Andy and I moved out to LA in early 2012. I wanted a place where I could curate and showcase my more polished recipes, as well as document my California adventures, both in and out of the kitchen. Hopefully I’ve been successful in at least one of these pursuits!

Don’t worry, I’m a pretty friendly and open-minded person!
Andy – the jelly to my peanut butter
Andy and I have been best friends for 4 years, roommates for 3, and sweethearts for 2! She currently serves as breadwinner, moral support, and taste-tester extraordinaire, although it can sometimes take a little creativity for me to please her omnivorous, texture-driven palate!
Mel – Andy’s 6 year old rat terrier, and my step-puppy
Mel and I share a special bond, as we are both hypersensitive to our environments, change-averse, and overly fond of peanut butter. Her favorite pastime is gobbling up bits of butternut squash peel that have missed the trashcan. Want more bulgy-eyed cuteness? Haven – the newest addition to the nest
Andy and I adopted Haven in November through a local rescue organization. Named after the Grey Havens of Lord of the Rings mythology, her activities of choice are chasing shoelaces, napping under the bed, and walking all over my face in the middle of the night.
